Singer Tory Lanez's divorce dismissed while he remains in prison

A Los Angeles court has dismissed the divorce case between Canadian rapper Tory Lanez and his wife, Raina Chassagne, after determining that there had been no meaningful progress toward a final judgment.According to court documents cited by TMZ, the judge dismissed the case due to a lack of activity since Chassagne filed for divorce in June 2024. Chassagne had sought to end the marriage after less than a year, citing irreconcilable differences. In her filing, she also requested both legal and physical custody of the couple's son, Kai.The dismissal does not necessarily mean the couple has reconciled. Rather, it indicates that the divorce proceedings were closed because the case was not actively pursued. Either party may be able to refile for divorce in the future, subject to California law.Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence following his conviction in the 2020 shooting of rapper Megan Thee Stallion. Despite filing for divorce, Chassagne has continued to visit Lanez in prison with their son. She also publicly acknowledged him on Father's Day last year by sharing throwback photos of him with Kai on social media.TMZ reported that it contacted Lanez's representatives for comment on the dismissal, but no response had been received at the time of publication. The dismissal means the divorce case is no longer active in court, while Lanez remains incarcerated serving his sentence. The post Singer Tory Lanez's divorce dismissed while he remains in prison appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
