Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp set to become new Germany coach



Former Liverpool coach Jrgen Klopp has agreed to become the new head coach of the Germany national football team after the departure of Julian Nagelsmann following the country's disappointing 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign. The German Football Association (DFB) confirmed on Friday that it has begun talks with Klopp after parting ways with Nagelsmann, who stepped down in the wake of Germany's shock Round of 32 elimination to Paraguay. The federation said Klopp has already indicated he is willing in principle to take over the role. Regarding the appointment of a new coach, the DFB leadership will now seek talks with Jrgen Klopp. He has already signaled his general willingness to take on the position, DFB said. Klopp stepped down as Liverpool manager in the summer of 2024, after almost nine years in charge, to take a break from management.The German,  who led Liverpool to Champions League and Premier League honours, is currently under contract as Red Bull's head of global football, but Sky Germany reports he has a verbal agreement which would allow him to leave to take up the Germany job.The post Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp set to become new Germany coach appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
