A Canada-based Nigerian woman has opened up about why she abandoned plans to relocate permanently to Nigeria, saying she quietly returned to Canada after just three months.Speaking in a video making the rounds online, she revealed that even her family did not know she had left Nigeria until she arrived in Toronto in the middle of the night.According to her, although she loves Nigeria and hopes to one day contribute to the country's development, especially in the electricity sector, she realised she could not cope with the realities on ground and decided it was better to watch from a distance. She said one thing that surprised her was how easily many Nigerians adapt to difficult living conditions, adding that she "knew there was fire on the mountain" and decided to leave while she still could. The woman also disclosed that before relocating, she encouraged several qualified colleagues to apply for Canadian permanent residency, but none of them took the opportunity. She noted that years later, many of those same people are now asking her how to relocate abroad, saying people often fail to recognise warning signs until it is too late.
