A.Nigerian woman, Susan Ayanbojo, has cried out for justice following the tragic death of her 27-year-old brother, identified simply as ID, who was allegedly st@bed to dath over a N200 debt in the Igando area of Lagos State on Saturday, May 30. In a viral video detailing the incident, Ayanbojo explained that her brother had just finished watching an Arsenal football match and eaten at home before heading out to a local spot to play snooker. According to her, an argument ensued when the 18-year-old operator of the snooker board, David Gideon, demanded N200 owed from a previous game. The disagreement quickly escalated into a physical altercation. Eyewitness accounts cited by Ayanbojo state that Gideon initially picked up a bottle to attack her brother, prompting ID to grab a bottle in self-defense. In an attempt to de-escalate the situation as it turned violent, ID reportedly ran into a nearby compound and locked himself inside."When my brother saw that the tension had died down, he came out of the compound," Ayanbojo stated. It was while he was walking away that David trailed him and stabbed him in the back with a bottle. The suspect also reportedly injured a bystander who attempted to intervene. Ayanbojo expressed grief over the lack of immediate help from eyewitnesses at the scene. It was ultimately the victim's younger cousin who discovered him bleeding and assisted him. Tragically, ID succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to the hospital. The suspect, David Gideon, remains at large. Ayanbojo has accused the local police command of negligence and a slow response in apprehending the fleeing suspect. Furthermore, she revealed that an individual who claimed to know the suspect on Instagram subsequently deleted their comment and deactivated their account after allegedly receiving threats. Stating that there are unverified claims that the suspect has a history of violent crime, Ayanbojo pleaded with the authorities to ensure the perpetrator is brought to book. "All I want is justice and for the suspect to be behind bars," she said.
