A short-let apartment owner has shared her side of a heated confrontation with a popular influencer whom she accused of staying beyond her paid booking period without settling outstanding accommodation fees.According to the owner, the influencer initially paid for seven nights and indicated she would pay for the remaining stay if she decided to extend her booking. However, after the initial booking expired, the owner claimed repeated calls, messages and attempts by staff to reach her over payment were ignored. She alleged that despite several reminders, the influencer remained in the apartment for six additional nights without payment, prompting concerns from management. The owner further claimed that when contacted, the influencer explained she was experiencing delays in receiving payment from a brand deal and asked not to be pressured, assuring her that the money would be paid. She also alleged that the influencer referenced her status and the number of celebrities who had visited her at the property while insisting she had no intention of running away with the money.According to the owner, the matter was eventually resolved after a friend of the influencer reportedly stepped in and paid for the outstanding six nights, after which she vacated the apartment. The incident has since sparked conversations online about social media lifestyles, financial pressures and the challenges business owners face when dealing with unpaid bills.
