Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle has revealed that Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman will miss next months high-profile international friendly matches against Poland and Portugal. After the Unity Cup, the Super Eagles are scheduled to face Poland on Wednesday, June 3, before taking on Portugal on Wednesday, June 10. Both Osimhen and Lookman were originally included in Chelles squad for the friendlies. However, speaking after leading the Super Eagles to a fourth Unity Cup title following a 30 victory over Jamaica in the final on Saturday, Chelle explained that the two star players will not be available for different reasons. For now we have two games, Poland and Portugal, and I have lots of problems because some players have visa issues, players like (Samson) Tijani and (Abdullahi) Yusuf, Chelle said. But most importantly we miss two players. Victor Osimhen is maybe about to change club, so I prefer he stays at home because if he plays and is not at 100 percent, it is not good. For Lookman, he is very tired and Atletico asked us to excuse him. We will travel with 18 players and we will see what happens after Poland and Portugal.Looking ahead to the fixtures, Chelle described the matches as a strong test for his squad. We will go to the two games to fight. If we win, we win. If we lose, we lose. Poland is a good team, Portugal may be the best team in the world, so this is a great challenge for us. I want to go there and try to beat them because Im sad we wont be at the World Cup, so maybe this can be something very good for me.Osimhen played a key role in Galatasarays Turkish Super Lig title win, scoring 15 goals in 22 appearances. Lookman, who joined Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window, helped the Spanish side reach the Champions League semi-finals and the Copa del Rey final. He scored four league goals in 12 appearances and contributed two goals and two assists in eight other matches.
