Public officials who steal public funds to build mansions and acquire vast assets should have their mansion demolished - Sowore tells FG



Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has demanded that the Federal Government demolish the mansions of corrupt politicians, arguing that properties acquired through the theft of public funds should face the same penalties as those used by kidnappers. Sowores demand follows the Oyo State Government's recent demolition of a three-bedroom apartment in Ibadan. The property was reportedly used by kidnappers to hold Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paulsister to a former Minister of Powerand her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, hostage.Read here. In a sharp critique of government policy, Sowore maintained that if the administration is committed to destroying properties linked to criminal activity, the law must be applied equally.
