The police officer who went viral after  a video of him threatening to shoot de@d anyone who recorded him on duty, has retracted his statement and tenered a public apology. Newton Isokpehi, the Nigerian police officer who went viral for threatening to shoot civilians who film him, has publicly apologized and retracted his statements.  In a video shared on his TikTok page, Isokpehi claimed his intense outburst was triggered by deep "frustration" and "annoyance" regarding how people document police presence on the road.  He openly acknowledged that citizens are fully permitted to record police officers on duty, arguingthat his comments were taken out of context. He explained his anger was directed at people who record idle or resting officers at checkpoints when nothing incriminating is occurring.  Please forgive me. That statement was made from a place of anger.
