They called me barren, looked at me with pity and mockery - Nigerian woman writes as she conceives after 8 years of waiting

A Nigerian woman, Ramlat Ishaq Suleiman, has shared her emotional 8-year difficult journey to motherhood, shedding light on the painful period of waiting, hoping for a miracle and the societal pressure she faced.  The Kano-based makeup artist, who shared her story in a Facebook post on Saturday, April 25, 2026, said she also faced mockery, people called her barren but she remained steadfast in her faith, spent her nights whispering her pain only to Allah. "For 8 years, I carried a pain no one could see. A silence that echoed louder than any words," she wrote. They called me barren. They looked at me with pity sometimes with mockery.  "They didnt know the tears I cried in ,the nights I whispered my pain only to Allah. Month after month year after year nothing.Just waiting hoping breaking and still believing. But Allah heard every silent dua. Not one tear was wasted. Today, I carry my miracle in my womb. A reminder that Allahs timing is never late. What people used to call me is not my name.My name is chosen, remembered, and blessed. To every woman waiting and hurting like I once didHold on. Cry to Allah. Trust Him. Because one day, He will turn your pain into a testimony The same people who called me barren will now witness the mercy of Allah in my arms.    The post They called me barren, looked at me with pity and mockery - Nigerian woman writes as she conceives after 8 years of waiting appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
