Moment Pope Leo XIV hugs young girl during his visit to Cameroon (video)



 A video showing the moment Pope Leo XIV hugging a little girl after the close of Mass in Bamenda, Cameroon on Thursday April 16, has warmed the hearts of many. Pope Leo XIV is conducting an 11-day, four-nation apostolic visit to Africa (April 1323, 2026), focusing on peace, interfaith dialogue, and supporting the growing Catholic community. His key stops include a historic visit to Algeriathe first by a pope to the Muslim-majority nation followed by Cameroon, Angola, and Equatorial Guinea. While in Cameroon today, a young Cameroonian girl ran toward the pope just as he was about to enter his vehicle  to leave for the airport. The Pope immediately paused and warmly embraced the child.
