Bandits abduct council of scholars chairman and others on Zamfara highway

Bandits have abducted the Chairman of the Council of Scholars in Gummi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Mallam Sadis Isa, along with several other passengers.   The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, October 7, 2025 along the GusauGummi highway.  According to security analyst Bakatsine, the attackers blocked the road, stopped vehicles, and whisked away an unspecified number of travellers.  "Yesterday evening, bandits blocked the GusauGummi road in Zamfara State, stopping vehicles and abducting several passengers including Malam Sadis Isa, Chairman of the Council of Scholars, Gummi LGA, he wrote.
